We are delighted to announce that Dr Leonid Sokolovskyy from our team recently presented our latest research on the topic of Understanding the Impact of Generative AI on Professional Judgement in Accounting at the American Accounting Association (AAA) Annual Meeting in Chicago. The conference is widely regarded as the premier global forum where academics, practitioners and policymakers explore the future of accounting.

Dr Leonid Sokolovskyy presenting the paper on the topic of Professional Judgment in the Age of Gen AI at AAA 2025 Annual Meeting and Conference on Teaching and Learning in Accounting.

Our paper was selected for the Strategic & Emerging Technologies (SET) Workshop, a specialist track that champions research on advanced information systems, artificial intelligence and other frontier technologies in accounting. The workshop is curated by the Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting (JETA), whose mission is to foster and disseminate high-quality research at the intersection of technology and the accounting profession.

During the session, Leonid introduced our emerging theoretical framework, grounded in our ethnographic case study at a mid sized audit firm, dem how large-language-model tools can co-construct professional judgement alongside auditors and accountants. The lively discussion that followed with scholars and practitioners provided valuable feedback we will incorporate into the next iteration of the study.
