University of Strathclyde Research Seminar: Exploring Gen AI’s Impact on Accounting Judgement

We were delighted to present our recent work, Generative AI and Professional Judgement in Accounting: Case-Evidence from a Mid-Tier Accounting Practice, at the Accounting and Finance Division Research Seminar Series at the University of Strathclyde.

The Division’s seminar series provides a vibrant forum for sharing new ideas in Accounting and Finance, regularly welcoming distinguished scholars from leading universities and research institutions. Our presentation contributed to this tradition by examining how emerging technologies—specifically generative artificial intelligence—are reshaping the nature of professional judgement in accounting.

The seminar sparked lively discussion among faculty and doctoral researchers, highlighting both the opportunities and the risks associated with generative AI in professional contexts. We are grateful for the insightful feedback and engaging questions, which will help us refine our ongoing research.

We thank the University of Strathclyde’s Accounting and Finance Division for the kind invitation and for fostering such a stimulating environment for scholarly exchange.
